*We calculate range using the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC), which is a European industry standard that measures the range of a vehicle based on a variety of testing scenarios, including representative urban use (for which the RM1S has been designed), and extended periods at higher speeds as certified by the homologation authority.

What is the real-world range of the Maeving RM1S?
What is the real-world range of the Maeving RM1S?
The real world range is calculated according to the WMTC (World Motorcycle Test Cycle). It is a European standard that measures the range of a vehicle based on a variety of testing scenarios.
The WMTC is the industry/homologation standard for motorcycles and covers a range of speed, accelerations and gradients to give a real world representative and comparable (even with Internal Combustion vehicles) energy consumption figure. The test consists of 3 phases in equal measure covering: urban, rural and freeway and is what Maeving uses to determine the range of our electric bikes.
Depending on how you ride will determine the real-world range of the RM1S. The range of a Maeving is impacted by numerous variables. These are: Extreme temperatures, Wind speed, Grade of terrain, Rider weight, Riding style (aggressive acceleration vs. tempered acceleration) and Average riding speed. The Maeving RM1S has been designed for urban travel. If you ride the RM1S within the city, you will be able to travel up to 80 miles. However, if a high percentage of your journey is at high speeds the range will be lower than the WMTC stated figure.
All Maeving's range and ongoing durability testing is performed with riders weighing between 75 and 110kg.
