The top speed is 70 mph.

What is the range of the RM1S?

The Maeving RM1S has a range of up to 80 miles, depending on your average speed, riding conditions and how you ride.

Typical city riding delivers the highest range figures whereas riding continuously at high speeds, or up hills will drain the batteries faster.

What factors affect the range of the Maeving RM1S?

The range of the RM1S is impacted by numerous variables. These are:

  • Extreme temperatures
  • Wind strength
  • Grade of terrain
  • Rider weight
  • Riding style (aggressive acceleration vs. tempered acceleration)
  • Average riding speed

What is the real-world range of the Maeving RM1S?

Depending on how you ride will determine the real-world range of the RM1S. If you ride within slow-moving city traffic, you will be able to travel up to 100 miles. However, riding at top speed will reduce the real-world to 60-80 miles, depending on the average time spent at top speed.

What is the power output of the Maeving RM1S?

The RM1S is powered by a 7.0 kW hub motor with a 11.1 kW peak. This is part of a custom-built drivetrain.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY AND CHARGING

Can I ride the RM1S with a single battery?

Yes, you can ride the Maeving RM1S with one battery in the compartment. However, we only sell the RM1S as a dual-battery motorcycle. Removing one battery will, of course, impact the performance and range of the bike.

What are the batteries in the Maeving RM1S?

The Maeving RM1S features 2 x 2.73 kWh batteries with LG cells. These deliver 7 kW continuous power and 11.1 kW peak power.

How can I charge the Maeving RM1S?

There are two ways to charge the Maeving RM1S. You can charge the batteries onboard with an external charger plugged into the mains, or you can remove the batteries and charge from a standard 3-pin socket.

How long does it take to charge the Maeving RM1S?

To charge from 0-100% will take under 4 hours.

To charge from 20-80% will take approximately 2 hours.

Please note that you can charge both batteries at the same time within the timeframes above.

What affects the health of the battery?

To keep your battery healthy, recharge often (keeping charge between 20-80%), avoid extreme temperatures, use the original Maeving charger, and handle it with care. For best results, use conservative drive modes and keep battery levels balanced when using two. Learn more here.

Can I add a second passenger?

No, the Maeving RM1S is designed to carry one passenger as adding an additional person would significantly affect the performance of the motorcycle.

Can I adjust the seat height?

The seat is 785mm from the ground and is not adjustable.

How much storage space is there on the Maeving RM1S?

The space in the storage tank is approximately 601 cubic inches.

Is there an option to add extra storage?

The Maeving Roll Top Pannier is available to purchase, offering an additional 854 cubic inches of storage space.

Yes, you'll have the opportunity to edit your order before making the final payment.

The Maeving RM1S electric motorcycle is built for city streets and beyond. With a top speed of 70 mph and a range of up to 80 miles, it’s perfect for zipping through your neighborhood, catching up with friends, or commuting in style.

What is the Maeving RM1S classified as?

As it has a peak power output of 11.1 kW, it is classified as an electric motorcycle.

Can I ride the Maeving RM1S on the freeway?

Most freeways are open to motorcycles that exceed 55 mph, such as the Maeving RM1S. However, riders should follow applicable regulations, posted signs, and exercise judgment when riding on higher-speed freeways. Please also note that riding at top speed for a prolonged time will result in the range reducing.

What license do I need to ride the Maeving RM1S?

To ride a Maeving in the United States, you generally need a motorcycle (M) license. Please note the following state-specific classifications:

- California: Requires an M1 license.
- Louisiana and Mississippi: Require a DLM (Driver License with Motorcycle endorsement).

No, we are a direct-to-consumer manufacturer; however, we will have Maeving-approved service partners to provide maintenance and support for your bike.

Can I see or test ride the Maeving RM1S before purchasing?

If you live in California, you can book a test ride in Los Angeles or San Francisco here.

In early 2025, Maeving will embark on a test ride roadshow, giving pre-order purchasers and prospective customers the chance to experience a Maeving firsthand before full ownership. If you are interested in a test ride, please register your interest via this form.

PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS

Is my deposit refundable?

Yes, your deposit is fully refundable at any time before you complete the balance payment for your order. Maeving will not request additional payment from you until we start planning your delivery with you. Order here.

When will you ask for full payment?

We'll request the remaining balance when we contact you to begin planning your delivery.

Can I pay on finance?

Yes, you can. With a minimum $500 deposit and terms ranging from 12 to 84 months, you have the freedom to choose a repayment plan that aligns with your financial preferences. Please explore our intuitive finance calculator here.

DELIVERIES

How much does delivery cost?

If you live in California, delivery is free.

If you live in the Northeast, delivery is $285.

If you live in any other state, we will confirm the cost of delivery shortly.

Where does Maeving deliver to?

Maeving will deliver to almost all of the United States, except Hawaii and Alaska.

When can I expect the delivery of my Maeving RM1S?

If you live in California, deliveries will take place in December 2024. If you live outside of California, deliveries will take place in spring 2025.

INSURANCE

Do I need insurance to ride the Maeving RM1S?

Yes, you need to insure your Maeving RM1S to a minimum cover of 'Third Party' before you can ride it legally on the road.

SERVICING

Do I need to service my Maeving RM1S?

Yes, you need to service your Maeving after three months or 600 miles, whichever comes first and then every 12 months or 3000 miles, whichever comes first.

Can Maeving service my RM1S?

Yes, if you live in California, our team of inhouse engineers can service your Maeving RM1S for you at your preferred location. If you live outside of California, we will be working with fully-trained Maeving-approved service providers.

Who founded Maeving?

Maeving was founded in 2018 by William Stirrup and Seb Inglis-Jones.

Is Maeving a British company?

Maeving Limited is registered in the United Kingdom and based in Coventry. Our motorcycles are designed, assembled, and tested by our in-house team. Currently, 65% of our components come from British sources — more than any other homologated automotive company in the world.
